EQUIPMENT OPERATOR POSITION DESCRIPTION
Airport Manager, Public Works Director, Assistant Public
Day-to-day snow plowing operations at Jerry
Tyler Memorial Airport on an as-needed basis.
Essential Job Functions:

High school diploma or equivalent
Some experience in building, and grounds maintenance and equipment
A valid driver’s license. A
State of Michigan Commercial Drivers License with Class B
endorsement is preferred.
Good driving record
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
Knowledge of the safety issues, regulations, and procedures utilized in
public works activities.
Skill in effectively communicating ideas and concepts.
Ability to establish effective working relationships and use good
judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness when dealing with the
public, other employees, etc.
Ability to critically assess situations, solve problems, and work
effectively under stress and in emergency situations.
Be honest, with a high level of integrity and reliability.
Be dedicated to the profession of public services to the airport users.
Have a high “service orientation” and commitment to providing
timely, responsive, and responsible airport services; plan and
manage workloads to meet established time schedules.
Have a sense of humor and ability to interact with all persons

range from moderate to loud depending on the project site and nature
of the work being performed.
